FOURTH OF JULY FESTIVITIES

Once again I volunteered with the bank to help with the fourth of July festivities. We help with the city's Fun Run, and then the parade. My day started out at 6:00 am down at the park. We help set up the fun run and then help in the registering, preparing the food, and clipping the timing chips off the participants. This year was so much easier to help with because the city hired a company to do the timing and posting of the results.

In the years past, I have ended up posting the results of the race. For the term FUN RUN, there has been a lot of hostility to the people posting the results. This year the only hostility came by one of the employees at the bank when she didn't get a Gatorade after running the race, her response was to get into the tub of water and ice where the Gatorade should have been.

Jackson and I were in the Parade. I rode on the float this year and Jackson walked. (Usually it is the other way around) I was nervous about the heat, so I chickened out. The sad thing was this was the year I was exercising faithfully.
