Jackson our youngest is ten. He has been the light of our family. We were waiting for him to join our family for quite awhile. He is definitely in charge and is one of Dave's best friends and my little baby.
He has always had quite an imagination. When he was little he had a special bond with the movie Toy Story. He watched it over and over. For one Halloween he was Buzz, the next Woody and then he was Zurg (the evil nemesis of Buzz). He had every toy that had to deal with the movie. One of his first sentences was "TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!"
One day he wanted to be Spider Man so he colored himself red with a marker. He has also dressed up like Luigi from Nintendo. To this day, he still does it but usually it has to do with what sport he is currently watching. If it is a Jazz Game he will have a jersey and shorts and sits with a basketball in his hands. If it is a Broncos game, he has an outfit for that. For his seventh birthday, we flew to Denver for the day to watch a Rockies game. He was in Heaven.
He is obsessed with sports and knows all the players and their stats. He can talk any sport with any adult. For years now, he would rather watch Sports Center than any Cartoon. He loves to play sports also. This year he was on the All Star Team for Baseball. He is usually the Center on the Football Team and the Guard on the Basketball Team. He never liked Soccer because it was just a step before Football.
He loves video games and is and continues to be the best player in our family. He has had the strongest competitors in his brothers give up to him in defeat. He has those brothers wrapped around his finger. He and Colton can get into some fights however. It is hard for Jackson to not want to be a teenager at 10. He would much rather play with the older brother's friends than his own.
Two years ago he began the hardest trial of his ten year old life, he developed a disease called Alopecia. It is a disease where your blood cells attack your hair follicles and your hair falls out. He has withstood stares and whispers, name calling and teasing. He faces this challenge daily with courage. He hates being bald but he doesn't show it. He will still get up in front of people and perform or play a sport. This has been his challenge, but he tries not to let it get him down. He hates that disease.
Jackson Bear, we love you. You make us so proud. We would be so boring without you. You have the brains and the personality to get you far in life. You have brought so much love and life to our family, I am honored to be your mother. Happy Birthday Son!
