Farewell

Britton's Farewell is on Sunday December 28, 2008 at 1:00pm. We meet at the church across the field from our house on Fort Lane. We are having a get together afterward at our home. Please feel free to come and visit. I can't believe it is already here. Britton is ready. He just found out that he needs an emergency Root Canal and that will happen on the 2nd. He will be set apart on Tuesday night the 6th, I believe and then we take him to the MTC on the 7th. It is a crazy time of year to get a missionary ready. I hope to never do this again at Christmastime. Life comes at you fast.

Yeah, who was it at church that told you "there's never a good time to have a farewell" when we were talking about how stressful this farewell will be??? I don't feel like that is giving you enough credit. The Christmas season is naturally extremely stressful. I've never really understood why the mothers of missionaries seemed to have the hardest time until now. Even though I've only been a mom for 2 years, I know that they remain your babies their entire life. I cannot imagine how hard this is! You're amazing that you've kept it together up to this point! You know that you have the total support of your family. We love you and can feel a sliver of the emotions you are experiencing. I can't wait for you to bring Britton's letters to Grandma's house to read out loud.

What a happy event! As we celebrate the mission of Jesus Christ, it is especially wonderful to celebrate Britton's upcoming service. He will be an exceptional missionary and his parents have had a key role in this. Appreciate this time as one of the great pay-days of being parents. Families of missionaries qualify for special blessings. Look forward to a wonderful two years of Heavenly Father's love filling your home. It will go by much to quickly!
