The date
I have been neglectful lately about the blog. I think I will get you up to speed as to why we have been so busy. The week after Colton's trip to California was Prom. He was "crowned" 1st Attendant in the Royalty. This was super neat since his tickets- paid for, his tux-paid for, his pictures-paid for, his dinner was very nice and inexpensive and we put on an amazing race for his friends that day and he won $25.00 for coming in first. It was a very fun time for him and his date, Chelsie Larsen-a good friend from our stake.

On a very sad note, our new cat Everett was hit and killed by a car. It has been a very sad and hard time for all but especially Jackson.

Home Again Home Again Jiggity-Jig

LAS VEGAS

BEAUTIFUL ZION!

We're Back! We had a great time. We went to Las Vegas-no we did not play any games. (It helps to have Jackson ask, "Mom, don't you think that in this economy, you shouldn't waste money like that?" Needless to say, we came home with all our "lucky money". Thanks Jackson for keeping us honest. We shopped all over Vegas. The next day we spent it with the Taylor's. Maddi and Jackson are great friends and have known each other their whole lives...since Colton and Mitch have been best friends since the first grade. (The year Maddi and Jackson were born) We went to the Virgin Cemetery to visit Keeli's Great-Great-Great Grandmother. The graves there are lumps in the ground. There are mounds of dirt where the bodies are. That was cool. Then we went to ZION NATIONAL PARK. It was beautiful. SO FUN. The weather was wonderful, the company entertaining, and the food at the end great. What a fun day. Colton is doing good. He is having a grand time in sunny California.

LIFE OF THE VACATIONERS

We are sunny and warm!

We are in Mesquite, got her yesterday. Jackson was so excited to be here that he woke us up to go help him make breakfast at 6:00am. He got it in his mind that he needed to make cheese eggs for everyone. He didn't understand that we had stayed up late, adjusting to the time change. So after a quick walk and breakfast, Jackson started pestering to go swimming. Dave and his Dad had agreed to take the missionaries to Zone Conference in Logandale. So I convinced Jackson that we had to wait until 9:00am before I would agree to go swimming. We swam with the water aerobics group. Peggy and I mostly laid out. Jackson was wanting to do everything that he could. Basketball, swim, basketball, swim, are you done yet Mom? I want to go home so that we can go to the go-carts. Home, changed, rest, then off to McDonald's for lunch. Dave and his Dad got home about 2:00. Now they are out catching lizards. I told them to not try too hard.

Colton was a little concerned when he called me from California last night that his room was directly under Mr. Everton's. I threatened him that if he gets sent home, the plane ride would be the only pleasant thing about that day.

Update on Elder Odle

He had a great week. He again achieved "standards". (I am thinking that they have a certain number of things that they must do to get that.) He and Elder Murphy broke the mission record for new investigators found. They found 16, it was truly a miracle. He loves his companion. For fun they make up new words to church songs that they listen to in the car.

He was excited to hear from Adam Moon this week, he thought it was very good and thoughtful. He really does love his mission. Britton says that he loves his zone, they usually go out to lunch before their meetings together and he loves to get to know them better. He is working hard, having fun, and the Lord has blessed him with so many miracles, he says. He can't even begin to say how grateful he is for his many blessings.

AS FOR US AT HOME:
Dave finished his shed. Jackson is grateful for spring break to be here. Colton heads out tomorrow for a week in sunny California with the Laytones. He is excited. I have taken the week off from work to spend with Jackson. I only wish it would be spring-like weather. ONLY 23 more days until WICKED for the Odle family. In the words of Jackson, "We have seats in the balcony, so we will be able to see so good, they are pretty much the best seats there." I hope he is not too disappointed. Easter is upon us as is the JR PROM, (Colton was voted royalty). Then it is off to baseball. Dave and Dan Horton are coaching Jackson's team, It should be interesting.

THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL REMAKE

Try to ignore my awful laugh at the end.
