HAPPY BIRTHDAY SON

COLTON is 17.

17 things that I love about Colton
1. His teddy bear personality. He is huge, but has the heart of a teddy bear.
2. His thoughtfulness. He would never hurt anyone intentionally.
3. His intelligence. All the boys get their smarts from their Dad.
4. His obedience. He tries to be obedient, if he remembers and pays attention.
5. His funny comments. He really is naive and very innocent, (that his mother knows)
6. His playfulness. He sometimes thinks he is the same age as Jackson.
7. His leadership skills. He is someone that the younger and older people look to as an example.
8. His understanding of the rules. He sometimes makes mistakes but tries not to repeat the offense.
9. His sportsmanship. He has turned about 15 people into die hard Lancer football fans. He also is fun to watch play basketball and baseball.
10. His helpfulness. He helps clean the house, do the dishes and laundry. (He should because he is very messy)
11. His loving ways. He is very affectionate. As a baby, he loved to cuddle and be held. That is still true, however it isn't so with the girls (I THINK),
12. HE KEEPS SECRETS. (refer to number 11)
13. His musical talents. He is not afraid to SING OUT LOUD, ask anyone sitting in the row in front of us at church.
14. His great attitude. He is going to do what is right, even if he doesn't want to.
15. His Bull in the China Shop movements. (It allows me to constantly replace things and keep things new around the house.) When my water broke with Jackson, Colton said, "I WAS NO WHERE NEAR THE WATER WHEN IT BROKE."
16. His willingness to eat anything....and everything. (It saves things from going moldy, not to mention the vacuuming when he was a child.)
17. He is my First Day of Spring Son and Dave's March Madness Boy.
COLTON, I love you. Happy Birthday Son.
Letter from Britton:
His new companion is Elder Murphy from Idaho Falls. He has a prosthetic leg, "which helps them get into homes" while tracting.

Britton got to sing a SOLO at Zone Conference last Wednesday. He sang "Come Thou Font".
He has a new address, please contact me for it if you would like me to give it to you. He is now in an apartment.

CONGRATULATIONS TO neice CARLY SPEIRS and JORDAN CHECKETTS for their announcement of their engagement. AUGUST 13th is the date.

*Fessed up to being a "Crappy Brother" to Colton and hoped for forgiveness.
ELDER ODLE'S WORDS OF WISDOM
"Remember to trust in the Lord! He will always be there! Oh and member missionary work helps out missionaries so much!"
This weeks Odle Update:
Jackson won his basketball game--next week's big game is against Dan Horton's Team
We went as a family to see Layton High's version of Show Boat. It was great. The costumes and scenery are fantastic and the kids are amazing.
Colton is 6 days away from 17. He is counting the hours. He has asked for a dog, he is not getting one. Sorry Colton. He and Jackson moved the basketball hoop to the trampoline for a fun new twist.
Dave had a busy Saturday: replaced a door knob, replaced a car battery, helped move furniture around in our bedroom, coached a basketball game, went shopping, and watched the UTES WIN!
I needed a break from work this weekend, even though I should have gone in to work a few hours. So instead I shopped, shopped, shopped, cleaned my room, started digital scrapbooking and marveled in my purchases.
